BOLDNESS TO ENTER THE HOLIEST
BOLDNESS TO ENTER THE HOLIEST

"Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”--Hebrews 10:19-22 (NKJV)

These verses have been one of my major anchor points now for well over 50 years.  We can have boldness to enter the Holiest (the very presence of God) solely because of what Jesus has done.  Notice the three provisions which include everything:  (1) By His shed blood.  He is the slain Lamb of God who shed His blood for the forgiveness of all our sins; (2) By His flesh or His perfect, sinless life which He lived on our behalf.  When we accept Him as Savior His perfect life is imputed (accounted) to us so that we are perfect in God’s sight;  (3) He is our High Priest ever living to make intercession for us.  Because of what Jesus has done in His finished work we now have boldness and assurance in our life and are cleansed from an evil conscience.  Instead of having an evil conscience now we have a “righteousness conscience” since in Him we are the very righteousness of God (see Isaiah 61:10; 2 Corinthians 5:21).  We need no longer live in guilt, worry, fear, or condemnation always wondering whether “we are doing it right.”  Praise His name for such a great salvation (see Hebrews 2:3).

"Our sins, when laid upon Christ, were yet personally ours, not His; so His righteousness, when put upon us, is yet personally His, not ours."--John Bunyan (the author of Pilgrim’s Progress)
